How we work, who we are, how we make money

Best Products UKis an independent UK product-review aggregator. We synthesise the best UK consumer-product reviews — from publications like Which?, Wired UK, T3, Tom's Guide UK, Trusted Reviews, TechRadar, Good Housekeeping, Expert Reviews and Stuff — into clear, ranked top-ten guides for British shoppers.

We are not a test lab. We do not claim to have personally cooked, driven, mowed or worn every product on the site. What we do is read every credible UK review of every product we rank, weigh them by depth and recency, and tell you which ones the experts agree on. The full methodology is below.

How we test

Every top-ten article on this site is built the same way. We start with a long shortlist (typically 25–50 candidate products in the category). We then read every long-form expert review of each candidate published by a trusted UK publication in the past 18 months. For each product we record: what each reviewer scored it, what they praised, what they criticised, how long they tested it for, and whether they bought it or were sent it.

We then rank candidates by four factors: cross-reviewer agreement on quality, depth of testing across the reviews we read, UK availability and warranty terms, and value relative to UK retail price. The score we publish is an editorial confidence number from 0 to 10 — not a measurement, not an aggregation of star ratings.

Where we have personal experience of a product, we say so. Where we don't, we don't pretend otherwise. Every article tells you which publications we read, when their reviews were published, and whether the reviewer bought the product or received it as a press sample.

Prices are checked the day each article is published and re-verified weekly. Rankings are reviewed monthly and rebuilt when new generations launch or when we cover three or more new long-form reviews of a product already in the list.

How we make money

Best Products UKearns commission when you buy a product through one of our outbound "View on Amazon" or partner-retailer buttons. The commission is paid by the retailer (Amazon UK and others) — it does not change the price you pay.

Every article that contains affiliate links is labelled Advertisementat the top in line with the UK Competition and Markets Authority's Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 (Schedule 20). Every outbound link to a retailer is a paid commercial arrangement.

The order of products in our rankings is editorial. It does not change based on which retailer pays the highest commission rate. Where two products are close, we may surface the one with broader UK availability — but never the one with the higher commission. If we ever do, we'll say so explicitly.

You can opt out of affiliate tracking at any time by clearing third-party cookies in your browser. Outbound links pass through /go/[product-id] on this domain so we can record an anonymised click count — no personal data is shared with retailers beyond what your browser already sends them.

How we use AI

We use AI tools (mainly large language models) to help with research summarisation, copy-editing, structured data formatting, and translation between English variants. We do not use AI to write product verdicts, assign rankings, or fabricate any review content.

When AI substantially drafts editorial prose in any article, we say so at the top of that article. Otherwise, every word and ranking on this site is the product of human editorial judgement.
